Watch Hill, a house steeped in history and adventure. Watch Hill is an Edwardian manor house dating back to 1922. Situated in pretty Budleigh Salterton and commissioned by the American millionaire Blake Thompson, the house is one of no less than fifty private residences designed by architect William Hatchard-Smith. Between 1939 and the early 1970s Watch Hill was home to more than 1500 overseas servicemen with no other home to go to.
This wonderful house was once used as the setting for the Agatha Christie novel Sleeping Murder! Feel part of something exciting, this house is like no other. With nine bedrooms Watch Hill can accommodate a total of 16 guests in self-catering splendour! In addition, the house boasts impressive period reception rooms, a state of the art kitchen, a fully equipped playroom for younger guests and a games room complete with snooker table, television and playstation.
