Watch Hill is a house steeped in history and adventure; an Georgian manor house dating back to 1922, situated in pretty Budleigh Salterton. The house was commissioned by American millionaire Blake Thompson, and is one of the numerous private residences designed by architect William Hatchard-Smith.

Between 1939 and the early 1970s, more than 1500 overseas servicemen with no other home to go to whilst on leave, were invited to stay at Watch Hill. This wonderful house was also used as a film setting for the 1986 episode of Agatha Christie's Sleeping Murder! Guests who stay at Watch Hill should feel part of something truly exciting; this house is like no other.

With nine bedrooms split across the 1st and 2nd floor, Watch Hill can accommodate a total of 18 guests in self-catering splendour! The house boasts impressive period reception rooms, a state of the art kitchen, a fully equipped playroom for younger guests and a games room complete with pool table, television and playstation. Set within landscaped gardens and mixed oak woodland, which is fully enclosed and dog friendly; we're sure that Watch Hill will appeal to young and old guests alike. 

The ground floor includes, a breakfast room, dining room, snug, living room, office, main entrance hall, utility and boot room. The majority of the ground floor exhibits genuine period parquet flooring, and is lit up with two period vintage chandeliers. Outside there is ample parking for all your guests, and to the rear of the property a sublime south facing, brick paved terrace overlooking Budleigh Salterton.  

The bedrooms include three en-suites; one master super king and two king beds. There are a further four spacious king bedrooms, one double bedroom and a huge childrens bedroom complete with London bus bunk beds. All bedrooms have gorgeous bespoke furniture, super soft furnishings and unique designer bedding.

Watch Hill lies in the heart of East Devon, on the Jurassic Coast and an extensive area of outstanding natural beauty. The River Otter estuary - a Special Area of Conservation - is a short walk away, as is the Victorian seaside town of Budleigh Salterton.
Nearby Exmouth is simply perfect for family days on the beach and water sports enthusiasts.
Cathedral city of Exeter is a short 25 minute drive away with a superb selection of shopping and restaurants.
The nearby Regency seaside towns of Sidmouth and Lyme Regis boast some of the most iconic and beautiful days out on the Jurassic Coast.
Further inland by 40 minute drive is Dartmoor National Park, and endless days walking and exploring the breath-taking and historic moorland and tors.
