A short drive to the gorgeous coastal resort of Salcombe with an opportunity for a spot of indulgence at the shops. Walking distance to the mythical and enchanting Dartmoor. For the water sports enthusiasts; the estate is a 90 min drive from the North Cornwall coast and surfing destinations of Bude and Widemouth Bay. Surfers are also a stones throw from Bantham Beach and Bigbury.

Living

We don’t want you to work while you’re at The Hive but we understand it can be necessary. The study allows you to stay in touch with the outside world yet still making the most of the glorious views.

After a packed day exploring South Devon, collapse into a proper armchair. Gather the family on the sofas, snuggle in front of the large fire and set up a cinema experience with the projector which fills the whole room.

** All guests staying with us at The Hive are supplied with a hamper on arrival full of local produce. We also offer a decanter of Dartmouth Gin which is produced on the estate. You won’t be able to go home without a bottle or two.

Sleeping

All five spacious bedrooms have been sumptuously designed, light filled rooms ensuring peaceful rest. Three super king, one king and one twin room option with bunk beds, ideal for kids. ** Bunk beds are only designed for children or teenagers
Luxuriously soft bedding induces sweet dreams as you tuck yourself in after a long day exploring. All bedrooms benefit from en-suite bathrooms with the added bonus of an additional family bathroom.
All bedrooms are spacious with plenty of storage space.

As all bedrooms are en-suite, you’ll never fight over bath time. Each bathroom either has a mixture of walk-in showers or bath depending on your personal preference.
Fluffy towels and luxury toiletries complete the experience.

Kitchen

The modest exterior of this farmhouse conceals a true period property bursting with character and original features; flag stone flooring underpins the impressive kitchen area. A home of interior richness, combining elegance and comfort.

Create a truly al fresco atmosphere, complete with a superb south facing sun trap. The enormous glass doors concertina back to the stone walls, opening the entire living area out onto the terrace and hot tub.

Whip up a feast in the in the open plan kitchen-dining room, a spectacular example of a modern country kitchen and enjoy sumptuous suppers. A wonderful setting for families to spend quality time together.
This huge light filled space is truly the heart of the home. An ultra-luxury range cooker (La Cornue) for concocting culinary delights. The Rolls Royce of cookers comes complete with 3 ovens, gas burners and induction hob with an additional treat of a charcoal grill; whatever the weather you can re-create the BBQ experience and dine in style.
The kitchen has oodles of worktop space, fully equipped with every appliance you could possibly need, an immense fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and spacious breakfast bar. Stunning Emma Bridgewater crockery adorns the kitchen shelves.
A separate utility area houses a washing machine, second dishwasher and a large additional fridge/freezer which could double up as a drinks fridge.

For the more formal dining experiences make the most of the dining room comfortably seating 10.

Outdoors

An outstanding south facing garden dominates, with views of the surrounding estate, vineyards and valley. There is so much space outside
A spacious terrace, outside seating, pizza oven and BBQ are available for guests.
Sit out and watch the sunset and enjoy the BBQ, accompanied by the award-winning estate wine and a Dartmouth Gin for afters.
Slip into the stylish hot tub bubbling away and absorb the stunning views across the estate.

The Hive is extremely fortunate to benefit from a Gym with rowing and running machines, weights, fit balls and much more.

The Hive is the perfect retreat for a truly restful escape.
