Wainhouse is a timber framed, Cedar clad former cart barn
providing a unique stay close to the Devon - Dorset border on the
infamous Jurassic Coast. Inside, exposed plywood walls strike a
contemporary - eco atmosphere. The interiors combine contemporary
and vintage furniture and furnishings, work from local artists,
culminating in a clean, simple & cosy environment.
Downstairs there is a poured resin floor providing a statement
foundation for the living area, with wood burning stove and sliding
patio doors providing beautiful natural light in the
mornings. The soaring ceilings and sense of light are helped
by the open plan first floor but that also means there are some
airline walls and open stairs so you need to be careful with very
little ones.
The majority of this 'passive house' style home is on the ground
floor & ideal for those wanting an easy life. Open plan
kitchen, dining and living areas all open out onto the patio space
and fully enclosed garden, via floor to ceiling windows and sliding
doors.
The Master King bedroom, bath and shower rooms are on the ground
floor, making it accessible for those less mobile, recovering from
injuries etc.
Upstairs there is a second double bedroom. Please note there are
privacy shutters between the 2 bedrooms, but they are not fully
soundproofed. There are additional sleep pods in the eaves of
the mezzanine floor, for single use (see photo series). Again,
please note these are open to the living space below and not fully
private or sound proof.
TV and sound system present and whilst there is Wifi, it is not
superfast. Please contact Unique Holiday Stays for an up to date
speed reading.
Hillside location above Uplyme valley, away from the main drag
and bustling resort town of Lyme Regis, but within walking
distance.
There is great outside living space; the large patio includes an
abundance of seating area and a bbq, and the last of the sun's rays
can be enjoyed on a hazel wood bench in the corner of the dry river
bed garden. The immediate surrounding and neighnours are very
quiet, so this is an excellent location for combining a peaceful
quiet escape, with the benefits of being close to nearby
resorts.
