The Coast House is set over a ground, lower ground and first
floor. The main living areas are open plan with a
contemporary-country kitchen, large dining area, living room all
set on the ground floor. This floor includes the entrance hall,
garden room, utility room and several French doors leading out from
the living areas onto the south facing sun terrace.
The kitchen fuses new and old, featuring a useful kitchen island
with shaker styling and a modern country range cooker and hob. The
lounge has doors opening onto the terrace encouraging you to pull
in the very best coastal and countryside views from the Estate.
For those lodging in cooler months, two fully operational and
maintained log burners are present to provide warmth and that cosy
country holiday atmosphere following a day's exploration in East
Devon.
The lower ground floor houses the cinema room and the fabulous
children's bedroom, with bespoke bunk beds. The bunkbeds feature
two king size beds each with a single bed above each - this is
perfect for families with a range of ages to cater for (toddlers to
teenagers…and big kids too). This bedroom has its own en-suite.
The bedroom and bed configuration in this wonderful home provide
endless variability to cater for most families. The first floor
houses the bulk of the sleeping accommodation with four bedrooms. A
master en-suite bedroom with Super King size four poster bed,
balcony and sensational countryside views. Two further king size
bedrooms including an artisan sleigh style bed frame and en-suite
bathroom with free standing bath. Finally a twin bedroom with two
single beds.
Â
The Coast House is situated in private grounds approximating 2
acres of mixed lawn, sun terrace, woodland areas including a small
espalier style orchard and established fruit trees.
There is a fully serviced and maintained hot tub and for cooler
evenings, a built in fire pit circle.
Guests can enjoy access to the 350 plus acres of pasture and
woodland on the Rousdon Estate. The fit and brave among your party
may wish to descend and traverse the steep footpaths down to
Charton Bay. Those that are able will find, a secluded pebble
beach, awash with all manner of flotsam and jetsam, but perhaps
more importantly - crystal clear waters for swimming and
snorkelling.
Locally, there is an abundance of choice for days out. Lyme
Regis is a short three mile drive East. This resort has something
for all ages, and will be a go to for your family meals out. 4
miles west lies the quieter resort town of Seaton, and beyond are
the seaside villages Beer and Branscombe and the ever charming
Victorian seaside town of Sidmouth. Â
Â
All in all, a brilliant property, particularly suited for family
gatherings and those seeking a genuine taste of the South West,
