With stately sandstone archways and enormous corridors this
holiday home oozes grandeur, yet has an abundance of eclectic and
personalised interiors to make you feel right at home. Sir John's
House sleeps up to 14 guests across 6 bedrooms, and with
deceptively spacious living space and grounds outside it will make
the most memorable of stays for your family and friends.
Formerly the residence of Admiral the Honourable Sir John Talbot
during the 19th century, the house perches proudly overlooking the
Lim Valley and retains more than an air of splendour. On a summers
day, you can saunter amongst the 7 acres of garden and meadowland
and listen to nothing more than the crickets and birds.
On the ground floor you'll find a versatile country kitchen,
with a range style Belling hob and breakfast seating area for 6. A
games room with pool and table tennis table can be found off the
kitchen. To the rear of the property facing the coast
is an extraordinary room of around 20 metres in length
with a huge bay window and beautiful and unique oak
carving.
The first floor encompasses four of the bedrooms - with two
double bedrooms off the main corridor. The master superking bedroom
is south facing with views over the grounds, Lim Valley and
Jurassic Coast beyond. Adjoining the master bedroom is a very
useful childrens room including two single beds, in addition to a
set of bunk beds. There is also a snug, bathroom and shower room on
the first floor.
Climbing the stairway to the 2nd floor and the views become even
grander. Here there are two further south facing bedrooms both with
sensational views toward Lyme Regis. Both bedrooms are very roomy,
with super king size beds and seating. There is a shared bathroom
on the second floor. Please note that there is no shower on this
top floor.
Access to the lawned garden and mixed meadow woodland is from
the rear of the property on the ground floor. Guests can enjoy full
access to the grounds, where a thousand games of hide and seek
await. There is outside seating for 10 and a dual fuel six burner
bbq for making the most of the late summer evenings.
Whilst there is WiFi and phone signal, Sir John's House is set
in a historic and peaceful location making this a unique holiday
stay and truly relaxing retreat!
With fossil hunting, paddle boarding and some excellent eateries
down in Lyme Regis, this incredible home has all the potential to
become a firm guest favourite.

Notes
Sir John's House is a 10 minute drive from Lyme Regis. It is a
lovely walk down the scenic valley footpath, but take at least 30
minutes to walk and may be unsuitable for younger children. A car
is recommended as the closest bus route is in Uplyme, a 30 minute
walk.
There is allocated parking for up to 3 vehicles.
There is only one television at Sir John's House. This can be
found on the 1st floor in the snug, where there is seating for 3 to
four guests.
Sir John's House may not be suitable for less mobile guests, as
all of the sleeping accomodation is found on the first and second
floors.
The grounds extend for several hundered metres beyond the house,
it is advised that younger children are accompanied by an adult
whilst exploring the gardens.
