Victorian estate cottage, sleeps 6 with incredible views over
the Sid Valley and Sidbury Manor Estate. Â
Oozing history and tales, this estate lodging enjoys some of the
most beautiful views over East Devon. It really is a truly peaceful
perch, full of rural charm and immaculately cared for. Â
This stunning former gamekeeper's lodge nestles at the north
entrance to the Sidbury Estate, positioned strategically to
overlook the rolling splendour of the gardens, grounds and valley
below. Constructed of Ham Hill stone and red brick, this modest
lodge was designed by Walter Cave and constructed by his father
with the intention of housing the estate gamekeepers; the original
kennels and pheasant houses remain and form part of the
outbuildings adjacent.
It has been lovingly restored and now showcases a fine blend of
bold modern interiors complimented with period inspired soft
furnishings. We cannot understate the beauty and authentic
rustic charm of this home and it is offered for overnight guests,
to experience a luxury unique stay full of familiar creature
comforts, but with an abundance of windows into the past of this
enchanting Victorian estate.
Â
On the ground floor in the extended part of the lodge there is a
open plan breakfast room and kitchen with classic country kitchen
vibes. Views out to the enclosed garden, courtyard and livestock
paddocks adjacent. Off the main entrance corridor there is a

on catchup, and warm up in front of the large log burner.
Sleeping configurations are excellent for mixed groups and
families; three bedrooms which can be made up (on request) to 6
single beds across three bedrooms. Alternatively they can be made
up to two super king beds and one twin. Plenty of flexibility
making it perfect for gathering friends and family
alike. Â
There is one super king bedroom on the ground floor. This can
also be made up as a twin room (zip and link bed) providing a
fantastic functionality for guest numbers or those less mobile and
seeking sleeping accommocdation on the ground floor.
On the first floor there is a twin bedroom with two lovely
single beds in a traditional calming country cottage themed
room.
Further along the corridor there is a shared shower room and
toilet.Â
The master en suite bedroom is the selling point upstairs, with
simply stunning countyside views towards Rocombe and River Sid that
can be enjoyed rain or shine. Â The super king bed (can be
