This place is the ultimate surprise getaway; book a week's
holiday and don't tell the family or your other half. Then sit back
smug and watch their faces light up as they explore this treasure
trove holiday experience. Step over the threshold of this former
fisherman's cottage, and you cannot fail to switch off from
reality. There is a reason why we endearingly refer to our
procrastinating habits, as going 'down the rabbit hole', and this
place encourages us to do so, with no holds barred.
If you need a place to spend some time with family or friends,
this has to be up there. Downstairs you're spoilt for rooms to
congregate in; a fantastically fun living room complete with log
burner, tv, mermaid and shark rodeo Chesire Cats. Then there's the
beautiful peach rose kitchen, with useful kitchen island, Belling
range cooker, glittery white quartz counter tops and nespresso
coffee machine. Finally there is the piece de resistance; the
Admirality Poker Room, aka the dining room. Seating 6 cosily, this
is your setting for your late night Gin Rummy extravanganza, or if
the kids are in tow, your recreations of the Mad Hatter's Tea
Party.
Creep upstairs along Avenue de Poisson, and you'll find three
uniquely styled bedrooms. Puffin Palace is a twin room with a great
wardrobe and view overlooking Dolphin Street. Lobster Reef is a
sensational double bedroom, with gorgeous bespoke French chateau
style bed. A vinatge dressing table for getting ready, and a view
back up the valley, over the slate roof tops of Port Issac
cottages. Finally Coral Cove is a haven of peace and tranquilty,
super comfy double bed a vintage dressing table and another view
out onto Dolphin Street.
The upstairs bathroom, has a shower over bath, with exquisite
tiling in pattern and jade green, with a fashionable, reclaimed
look heated towel rail. There is a much needed utility and outside
space to the rear and front for storing sandy boots, wetsuits and
your beach gear.
All this only a stone's throw from all that Port Isaac has to
offer; boutique shops and galleries, lively pubs and Michelin Star
restaurants (Nathan Outlaw Fish Kitchen).
With an abundance of rugged, headland walks to the local coves,
this cottage makes a fantastic North Cornwall base all year
round.
Let their imaginations run wild; with the rather obvious Lewis
Carroll inspiration, why not introduce Alice's off the wall
adventures to your kids and family? Enquire today!
