Outdoors

The Rousdon Estate: The 350 acre Rousdon Estate dates back to the 1870s when Sir Henry Peek commissioned a Tudor style mansion, which is now Grade II* Listed, to be built on the land. The estate later became a school until it was sympathetically sub-divided into six properties for residential use. Peek House is located in an enviable position on the private Rousdon Estate. The estate is about 150 metres above sea level and the parkland provides an array of woodland and countryside walks bordered by a private beach on the dramatic East Devon Jurassic coastline.

There is a private car parking area offering ample parking for multiple cars and room for a car in front of the property.

A hidden gem!

On our arrival to Peek House, we were amazed by the main mansion which faced us on our way up the drive. We were politely greeted by Emilie, who showed us around the house and explained the dynamics of the estate and also directions to the private beach which was utterly perfect – Although quite a walk back up to the house. The house itself was like something out of a film. Through the front door we were welcomed into the entrance hall which had lots of information on the local area and things to do.

The kitchen was everything we had imagined and more. Our expectations had been exceeded. There was range style cooker and lots and lots of cupboard space for storing our food shopping. The super large fridge freezers were ample for our families. The living areas are grand and beautiful, just as the photos show.

We all slept beautifully, the beds were very comfortable. Overall a lovely house, sparkling clean, with everything we needed. Thank you.
