Wonderful gem in the Devonshire countryside!

After finding this gem online, I couldn’t wait to stay here for a week with my partner and 5 year old son, to get away from it all. And boy, did it deliver! Upon arrival, we had a goody basket, which was such a lovely touch after the drive from London and really helped us to settle in. The property is the perfect combination of old “chocolate box” cottage chic mixed with all of the modernities you could wish for to make it a truly comfortable stay. It really is a beautiful find. It was immaculately clean, considering it is a grade 2 listed building, and had a lovely cosy feel. There is a log burning fire for any rainy days, but there is also central heating throughout if you’re not feeling like Bear Grylls! There are lots of things to do, both in the immediate area, and if you want to take a little drive out. There is a beautiful old pub called the Tucker’s Arms within spitting distance of the cottage. Really friendly staff and a great opportunity to have a chat with some of the locals. There is also a vineyard which the cottage backs onto, so feel free to go and grab yourself a bottle, as it really couldn’t be closer! I would not hesitate to recommend to a friend or family member, although I think I would prefer to keep this little gem a secret as I don’t want it to be reserved when I book again 🙂

The perfect balance between modern luxury and traditional charm!

We had a fabulous holiday. Very conducive space for good family time together (mum, dad + 5 young boys). Perfect balance between modern luxury and traditional charm. Very friendly neighbours too! We will be back.

The kitchen is amazing

This is a beautiful space to spend some time relaxing and unwinding. We went with friends and it’s perfect for a group. Lovely and clean, very stylish space with an amazing kitchen in particular!

A lovely pub down the road

A beautiful house in a stunning location. Lovely pub down the road. We had a great time trick or treating in the local village. Even the telephone box provided spooky treats. HIX restaurant in Lyme Regis is well Worth a visit. Pricey but a unique experience with a view to die for:) food not bad either if you like fish. All in all a nice house.

Spotlessly clean!

Very stylish, spotlessly clean, cosy cottage with an excellent kitchen; perfect for our family holiday. The nearby shallow stream and tree swing were a magnet for our small grandsons!

The perfect village location

A Beautiful cottage in a perfect village location. There were biscuits and milk when we arrived which was a nice touch. Lovely stay, would definitely recommend.

What beautiful accommodation!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Palmers cottage. It’s located in a small and quiet village so was perfect for us to get away from it all. The cottage itself is finished to a very high spec and lots of care has gone in to making it comfortable and homely. For us, it was a real luxury. We found everything we could have possibly needed. Perfect for families as two of the bedrooms are approached via stairs. Lovely outside space too – the decking catches those last rays of sun and it was so nice to relax and listen to birdsong. Emilie was a great host and communicated well. Lovely touch of brownies and milk on arrival. There’s a great pub just a stone’s throw from the cottage. There are lots of local walks (a leaflet showing these is provided at the house). It was a 15-20 minute drive to Charmouth/Lyme Regis so all in all, a good location. We hope to visit again in the future – thanks so much Emilie.

Nothing but birdsong – a real treat!

An absolutely gorgeous and stylish property with everything you can imagine thought of (including an XBox!). All the little touches of chic made it for a special stay. The garden and village are also stunning, great for local runs. The local pub the tuckers arms is well worth a visit too, great food and friendly staff. Opening the windows and hearing nothing but birdsong was a real treat. Highly recommended!
