Overview

Step back in time and lose yourself in the atmosphere of days gone by. Cotleigh House is an Edwardian country house built in 1913 and is a fine example of the Arts and Crafts period. Set within much loved mature gardens, it is a perfect hideaway for friends and family with stunning views across Dartmoor.

For those looking to escape the bustle of the city, the house is within easy reach of Devon’s best beaches and spectacular moorland walks.

Make a grand entrance into the impressive hall, all that’s missing is the butler! The strikingly beautiful oak staircase immediately beckons you up to the first floor. The main reception rooms are located off the hall and are large and well proportioned.

Living

Here you can relax on comfy sofas toasting your toes by the log burner surrounded by oak panelled walls. A door links the lounge to a bright and airy drawing room, a large bay window and French doors lead onto a substantial terrace overlooking the impressive gardens, ideal for evening drinks on a summers evening.

Place yourself at the impressive dining table for a grand feast surrounded by family and friends. After dinner investigate the hidden secret in the room, the snooker table, hidden within the dining table! Wander through to the drawing room afterwards and out onto the garden through French doors.

Sleeping

At the top of the elegant staircase there are 6 luxurious bedrooms. Compromising four good sized bedrooms with double beds, and a smaller room with two single beds. A smaller staircase leads up to a loft room where there is a double futon bed.

The upstairs accommodation offers two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower overhead. One with a fantastic steam shower.

Three of the four principal bedrooms have their own wash basins. There is a separate loo off the first floor corridor.

Kitchen

The heart of the house is the huge farmhouse kitchen perfect for gathering together. With a butler’s pantry and 4 oven AGA. The impressive original dresser stands proudly amongst the cream wooden topped units. The main kitchen leads into a second kitchen with all mod-cons, gas hobs and granite worktops.

Outdoors

The landscaped grounds and the gardens provide tonnes of space for exploring, playing games, picturesque outdoor dining, as well as seclusion and calm.

There is a cottage also on the estate which can be rented out separately.
